The goal for the year will be to expand on our skill base and work toward the mastery of individual skills. The dancers will develop and strengthen dance muscles, work on body coordination, balance and more.
We will study the language of dance and we will work to bring out the creativity and artistry of each student.
Philosophy of Instruction: To provide quality dance instruction and performance skills through positive reinforcement. To encourage our students to know the importance of practice, attention to detail & teamwork. To improve flexibility, physical fitness, and self-confidence in a fun atmosphere.
Pre-K students will be introduced to dance through creative movement. The child will be able to explore; experience and discover many kinds of physical movement while learning basic dance and music skills. As the student matures, ballet techniques are introduced. Jazz, Tap, Team, Hip Hop, Tumbling/Acro and Pointe are fun supplements to ballet training but they require knowledge of dance techniques achieved in ballet, as well as, musical awareness. That is why these classes are added gradually into the dancer’s education at levels appropriate to the child’s age.
We realize that the dance industry is ever-evolving and we strive to stay abreast of new techniques through travel to various workshops, camps and clinics.
